USHA International, a proud partner of the biopic, Mary Kom, celebrated its association with the film and women empowerment in the presence of Priyanka Chopra. Usha International’s association with the film, which is an ode to the boxing powerhouse Mary Kom, reinforces Usha's efforts in partnering with initiatives that empower women through sports and skill development.
The event at the Hab witnessed some electrifying action, with Priyanka Chopra’s power packed punch, reflecting the spirit of the movie. Priyanka Chopra also felicitated two women entrepreneurs from Usha Silai schools which is a rural livelihood initiative. On the occasion, Priyanka Chopra was gifted an embroidered face portrait created on an Usha Janome automatic sewing machine.
At the event, Priyanka Chopra said, “It is very encouraging to see how Usha International has been instrumental in empowering women by creating women entrepreneurs in the rural space through the Usha Silai school initiative, not only in India but also making an effort of reaching out to rural women in our neighbouring SAARC nations.”
Chhaya Shriram, Director, Usha International Limited, said, “At Usha, we have always believed in making the lives of women better, not just through our innovative products but with various focused initiatives such as Usha Silai schools and sports events. Partnering with Mary Kom, the film is a natural extension of our core belief of empowering lives through skill development and sports.”
