Deepika Singh aka Sandhya in Star Plus’ mega drama show, Diya Aur Baati Hum plays not only a bahu but a powerful police officer which has a lasting impact on the audience. Deepika claims that essaying the character needs a lot of stamina and strength and we are certain that she is leaving no stone unturned to keep herself fit. In a conversation with Deepika, we get chatty about her fitness regime. Personal fitness mantra? I believe in being happy, positive and not taking stress. To achieve anything in life, one needs to be motivated and that cannot be possible if there is stress. Personal diet mantra? If we exercise, I do not think there is need for a diet plan. I eat everything. Are you a foodie? Yes. I am a big foodie. Exercise routine? I follow a one hour intense workout session. Are you a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian? I am a vegetarian but I eat eggs occasionally. Favourite cuisine? I love Chinese food. Favourite dish? I do not have favourites as I love food. I eat everything which is less oily and not very spicy which can cause indigestion. A must on your breakfast table? Tea is a must on my breakfast table. Sugar or sugar-free tea/coffee? I drink tea with sugar. I consume a minimum of four to five cups of tea everyday. Lunch generally consists of? My lunch consists of a full meal. I eat two vegetables, curd, pudina chatni, chapatti and rice. Dinner generally consists of? My dinner is something fun like pizza, biryani or veggies tossed in rice. I eat rice more than chapatis. Dessert delights? I like ice-cream and chocolates. My favourite drink (non-alcoholic)? Virgin mojito is my favourite non-alcoholic drink. My favourite drink (alcoholic)? I do not consume alcohol. Most unusual dish I have tasted? I do not like avocado, so whenever I eat salad I avoid eating that. Also, I find the taste of tofu very weird. Experiment with food? Yes. Almost all the time. On the streets I love to have? I love eating pani-puri and gol gappe. Do you cook? I used to make sandwiches on rare occasions before marriage but post marriage I do not cook anything. Fitness tip? It is very important to be happy before going to bed. Also, if one exercises, there is no need to diet.
