Sarnali is V's Mobile Singer!

There's something about Bong gals that's making the music industry go ga ga over them! First, there was Shreya Ghoshal (<em>Sa Re Ga Ma Pa</em>), then Aditi Paul, <em>Fame Gurukul's</em> Ruprekha Banerjee and now Antara, who are singing the right tune these days.
There's something about Bong gals that's making the music industry go ga ga over them! First, there was Shreya Ghoshal (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa), then Aditi Paul, Fame Gurukul's Ruprekha Banerjee and now Antara, who are singing the right tune these days. Sarnali is the latest to join this brigade! She has been declared the winner of Channel [V]'s Mobile Singer just a few days ago. The gal has an uncanny resemblance to Ruprekha and the similarities don't end there. Sarnali comes from Hooghly district, Kolkata and has been singing since she was eight, just like the fairer half of the Fame Jodi. "I have been very lucky. It's a great opportunity for me to make a career in playback singing," says the girl, who was chosen from more than 50,000 participants. "We are being trained to be playback singers and they hadn't even seen me earlier. Here there's no question of how one looks and dresses, what's important is that I sing well! Everything else is secondary!" points out Sarnali, who's very happy with the little transformation in her appearance too. The lady as is the case for all who want to make it big in playback, wants to shift to Mumbai as soom as possible. Her album will be launched sometime in February end or March, and she is raring to get going. "Right now, I am 100 per cent dedicated to my career...and nothing else!" signs of Sarnali!
