Looks like the silver screen can't do without it's telly sis. This time there's another cross promotion happening; the latest one to promote a film on the telly. In an attempt to promote the forthcoming Amitabh Bachchan-Sharmila Tagore starrer, Viruddh, Star Plus is running an unique contest, Viruddh-talaash ek adarsh jodi kii…designed specially for the senior citizens of this country who have faced many a battles in life with grace and courage. Viruddh, brings Amitabh Bachchan & Sharmila Tagore together, after a couple of decades. In the film, they play an elderly couple, Vidyadhar & Sumitra Patwardhan, who face extraordinary hardships and challenges in life with grace and courage. The Viruddh-talaash ek Adarsh Jodi kii contest invites ordinary couples in their 60s, married for 25 years, to come up with their own heart warming stories of courage and determination faced together from the early years to the autumn of their lives. The 15-day contest, starting on 15 June on Star Plus, invites viewers to send in their stories in not less than 500 words to Viruddh Adarsh Jodi contest, 002, Sunshine Apartments, MAHADA Bldg no 4, Opp. Oshiwara Police Station, Andheri (W), Mumbai-400053, before June 29th, 2005. The forms will also be available on www.indya.com from June 15. The jury, consisting of Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, John Abraham will select 5 couples among the many entries received. In a special episode anchored by Amitabh, on 9 July, the short-listed 5 couples will be announced. The viewers will be asked to vote for the adarsh jodi from among the 5 couples. The winning couple will be flown to Mumbai to attend the grand premiere of the film Viruddh with Amitabh, Sharmila Tagore and the rest of the cast in a glittering function. This is not it; the emotional journey of the winning couple will be integrated into the star-studded premiere episode on Star Plus. So will your's be the Adarsh Jodi lucky to share the space with Amitabh and Sharmila?
