The Great Indian Laughter Challenge or the hunt for India's "Hasi ka Badshah" aired on Star One has been doing well in their attempt to tickle our funny bone . The finalists of the show are trying their best to give their best shot to make people laugh. One of the finalists Bhagwaan Maan from Punjab is already a star in his own right as he has released over 20 audio and video comedy cassettes and his jokes revolve around political satires ,issue based social evils and the likes and has also done various stage shows abroad. Not to mention he has tried his hand at acting also with his appearance on Jugnoo Mast Mast,a comedy show on Zee Punjabi. Maan says with a straight face that "I am like an aeroplane and Star one is the runway , now it is up to me on how I operate the engine."
Another contestant Ashaan Qureshi from Madhya Pradesh has got his share of fame and has been doing well by sending people fits of laughter with his stage show comedian stunts for the last 20 years. His jokes mainly focus on political satires and social issues. He participated in the show because his friends feel that it is the best platform where he could showcase his talent in front of the whole world.
Contestant Parag Kansara from Baroda is a mimcry professional. While most of his jokes are inspired by his wife or based on old chachajis and topics mainly on "Socha -To think" he has also done shows abroad and states that "If you look around, there are lots of topic to make people laugh." Parag's jokes in Gujrati was released 4 years ago which turned out to be a success along with some TV shows on ETV Gujrati.
What is to be seen is if the finalists who are using their exceptional brand of humour to convince the judges and the audiences are convincing enough and to choose the winner will be a challenge in itself!
