How Aamir Khan celebrated his 50th birthday

Aamir Khan doesn't believe in making big noise about his significant achievements. When his movie crosses the first-of-its-kind 300 crore mark, there is a small press announcement made and that's about it. His 50th birthday too was devoid of the usual grandiose that one would expect when a Bollywood biggie reaches the golden jubilee of his life.

Aamir rang in his 50th birthday far away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai in the serene Hilton Shillim resort located in Lonavala. Apart from his family, only close friends from the industry and his business associates were invited. The biggest name attending the bash was India's richest man, Mukesh Ambani and wife Nita. Anil Kapoor, Vidya Balan and husband Siddharth, Ronnie Screwvala, directors Neeraj Vora, Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, Raju Hirani, Karan Johar, Ayan Mukherjee and Prasoon Joshi were the prominent Bollywood names who were present.

Overseeing the arrangements of all the guests was Aamir's wife Kiran Rao who personally supervised everything. From arranging a magician to perform tricks to getting Raju Srivastava to dole out his wisecracks (clean ones only), the guests were greatly entertained.

While some guests had arrived on Friday night, the rest trickled in by Saturday morning. There was a pool party held in afternoon where Aamir was joined by Raju and Rakesh. The evening saw the birthday bash veing hosted. A western band was organised to perform one of Beatles' hit numbers. Later on request of Anil Kapoor, Aamir danced to the tunes of his popular numbers like Papa Kehte Hai to Tharki Chokro.

Aamir in his speech thanked both Reena (who was present at the bash) and his now wife Kiran for bearing with him all these years.
