Gaurav Kothari who was last seen on the big screen in the film 6-5=2 has made his television debut with MTV’s most popular show Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan’s sequel (BBC Worldwide Media). Gaurav who is also the brand ambassador for a plus size clothing brand will be seen in an all new avatar.

As we know, he plays a gay character by the name of Kiran and his love interest is Sahil Sharma.

On the challenges of playing a gay character on the small screen, he said, “I am an actor and hence it is wrong if I become choosy at this point. I love taking challenges and my favourite genre is comedy. Hence I feel this is a good exposure. Also this show is a brand now and a youth based show.”

Talking about his character he further added, “Kiran my character is a very sweet guy and has an amazing sense of fashion as he works in a fashion magazine.  The couple need a baby but since the society discriminates them as they are gay, Kiran will tell his patner Sahil to fake it by saying that Kiran is a girl’s name. They go to Navya’s house where she has a baby boy Abeer. But later on the lead guy Parth discovers about Kiran being a male and gay. Kiran also goes to Navya’s office and gets thrown out. I love this whole new phase in my career. It is a very interesting character. My director AZAJ is a very sweet and humble guy. He gives freedom to actors to perform and that is what an actor needs.”

Three cheers to you, Gaurav!!
