Discipline comes easy to this grounded, young, new talent, Pooja Nair. Hailing from an army background, with a degree in media studies, Pooja is all set to step into the small screen with her latest venture Kota Toppers (Bodhi Tree Productions).
In Bindass’ thirteen episode, finite series, Pooja will be seen in the role of a Malayali girl, Naicy, who dreams of cracking the IIT entrance… as her parents believe that she has the potential to do so. Speaking about bagging the role, Pooja said, “For the character of Naicy, the makers were looking for a Malayali girl, who will be able to essay the character convincingly. After growing up in northern part of India, I hardly have any accent. Hence, they were not aware that my ancestors were from Kerala, but they guessed it from my surname. Hesitant about how I will portray the role, the production house called me for an audition. Thankfully, I am able to essay the role convincingly.”
Pooja, who started her career in advertising, shifted her attention towards acting after getting involved with theatres. And now, the lady is all set to work with Bollywood biggie Akshay Kumar. “After being associated with theatres, I have learned a lot. Soon, my film, Airlift, will release, which stars Akshay Kumar. I am happy that I am pursuing my dream today,” she added.
