Shagun Ajmani is talented for sure!! Her portrayal of the negative and wily Shabnam in Zee TV’s Jamai Raja has indeed put her on the hot seat with regards to her performance. Shagun was earlier called by the name Garima Ajmani.
Well, the lady is elated as she has now got her best birthday gift that is her first award.
Says Shagun, “The recent win and award for my negative portrayal in Jamai Raja at the Zee Rishtey Awards has made me really happy. This is my first award in my professional career. That made me very nervous onstage while accepting the award.”
Shagun celebrates her birthday on 8 December and she feels that she cannot get a better pre-birthday gift than this.
Talking about her Jamai Raja journey, Shagun explains, “While accepting this role, I was very confused whether I will be able to do justice to the character, as I was coming back to TV after a long time. But now I have to say that this has been a fantastic journey; everyone around has been so nice and co-operative. Most of the credit for this has to go to my director.”
“Shabnam is getting all the more wicked now and she has taken over the house and the whole family. My role is stronger now, and honestly I did not expect the graph to go upwards like this. Our ratings have gone up and the audience loves my track and the response has been phenomenal,” adds the actress.
Ask her whether she feels that the award has come a bit late in her career wherein she has donned so many challenging avatars and she quickly avers, “There is a time for everything to happen in one’s life. So maybe this is my time.”
