&TV’s upcoming show Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai is straight out of the 60s and 70s with the customary gramophone, airy rooms and rocking chairs. The promo, narrated by the maid, gives us a glimpse into the rivalry of two sisters, who are both talented singers.
Their competition has an uncanny resemblance to the alleged conflict between Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle. In fact, the title of the promo is taken from Lata Mangeshkar’s hit ‘Naam Gum Jaayega’.
Playing the warring sisters are Amrita Rao in her maiden TV venture and Aditi Vasudev, while Deepti Naval and Zareena Wahab play their older versions.
Even though the promo doesn’t reveal much about the story, it’s clear that the finite series will be peppered with songs, great acting chops and an intense plot. We just can’t wait to watch the first episode. Can you?
