I have faced lot of rejections in life: Rohini Banerjee

Rohini Banerjee

It is well said that post marriage woman skin starts glowing.

After meeting the newly wedded actress Rohini Banerjee we have understood that marriage can definitely do wonder’s in each life.

After a long gap, Rohini is making her comeback with Zee TV’s Vishkanya. The bong beauty looked ravishing in her on-screen Bengali look.

The reporters present at the press launch couldn’t stop congratulating the lady on her wedding with Vrajesh Hirjee.

In a candid chat with Tellychakkar, Rohini spoke about her show, character, life post marriage, struggle in the industry, reality shows and more. Excerpt from the conversation.

Firstly, Rohini tell us how’s life post marriage?

Well, frankly speaking marriages are highly over rated. I have got no extra wings nor have I got wiser. Life is great like always. I am glad to marry an actor who understands my passion towards work.

How is Vrajesh as a husband?

(Smiles) Vrajesh is mad, insane and he matches my insanity.  I love the energy that both share.

What is that one thing that clicked between you both?

We balance and match each other. We agree to disagree and never push with opinions on each other.

When do you plan to go family way?

Honestly, I can’t plan. If things want happen it will happen. Expectation is root cause of problems. I have very less desires from everyone and also from myself.

What made you to sign a role of a mother?

(pauses) An actor should think way beyond the vanity. Unfortunately in television you get type casted. It’s very important now that we should cross the barrier of age group. It’s very easy to be in comfort zone; once you step out of it you will see the magic. An actor’s job is to act whether its 70 year old woman or 20 year young girl. If your producer thinks that you can do it you should take a leap of faith and spread you wings. Sky is the limit.

Looking out the promos, the show and your character looks very promising; would you please put some light on your role?

My character is completely gray and complex. As show progresses, at one point of time audience will emphasis with my role and the next moment they will hate her.

Your take on reality shows?

I was quite judgmental when my partner Vrajesh had participated in Bigg Boss. I kept telling him not to give nod for the show. But I understood when a person comes out of house he or she goes through lot of introspection. It puts you in whole psychological game. It breaks you but at the same time it also polishes you.

Why you took a long gap to make your comeback?

(She quickly replied) Kaam hi nahi diya kisine… I did my last show year and half ago. I was been looking out for work actively. But for an actor aaj kaam hai aur kal nahi hai so make hay while the sun shines and here I am talking to you all.

As you mentioned that you had no work in between, so at that time how much did industry people help you?

No one and I don’t even expect.

Are you very choosy when it comes to work?

Not at all. I believe every role can be taken to great height if you have the potential to visualize the character. I am not picky and choosy about roles.

Any point of life you thought of giving up?

Absolutely not. I enjoy what I do. I have faced lot of rejections in life but I always stay positive.

Do you believe in supernatural things?

Not at all. I love black cats. I would wish to have to have one with me sitting on my lap. And talking about Vishkanya it’s not superstitious but factual. You need genius mind to come up with concept like this.

Good luck Rohini!
