Model turned actress Poulomi Das feels excited to be part of the daily soap scenario after tasting success as model!!

Poulomi plays the double-faced role of Baby in Star Plus’ Suhani Si Ek Ladki (Panorama Entertainment) and has the thought process that playing negative is real fun!!

Says Poulomi, “I love to portray negative roles. It’s not that I am negative in real life (laughs), but I believe that being negative is as good as being positive. If evil did not exist, the value and importance of the good would have faded. So a negative character enhances a positive character.”

Poulomi who is from Kolkata, has taken part in the Miss India contest and has been part of India’s Next Top Model.

Talking about her switch from being a model to an actor, the actress avers, “Acting was always in my mind. But I never chanced upon a good script. When I heard about the character of Baby in Suhani, I simply loved it. However, getting into the busy schedule of a daily was not easy for me. I used to shoot for only 7-8 days earlier, and to face the camera non-stop for 25 days in a month was tough. But now I have settled into the groove.”

Poulomi feels that her modelling stint has made her more courageous as a person. “Earlier, when I was not modelling, I used to get conscious about my skin tone. But once I started modelling, I gained lot of confidence. Today if you ask me, I will say that I am lucky to have this skin tone. Modelling has given me confidence in terms of my look and my ability to face different situations in life.”

For Poulomi, this is just the start to her acting career and she looks forward to great days. “I am a very ambitious person and want to achieve all that I can.”

Best of luck, Poulomi!!
