I live for dance and can die for it too: Shakti Mohan

Dance Plus is returning on Star Plus with its third season, and we can’t help but start back counting the date of its launch. The dance reality show’s past two seasons were huge hits and we hope the same for this one too. Though the judge, mentors and host all are the same, this season will witness a new format with international dance troupes coming in.

In a candid conversation with Tellychakkar.com, one of the most loved mentors Shakti Mohan, opened up her heart on her love towards dance.

About the format of the show she shared, “This season is very special. This time there will be Remo sir’s squad which will consist of international participants. I don’t think this has happened in any show around the world that freshers are pitted against international level contestants. It will be exciting to watch what happens.”

When asked about the challenges they have to face this season, she said, “This season is not only going to be difficult for the participants but us (mentors) too. We will have to prepare them and train them so good that they perform well in front of the international crew. We are excited as well as nervous.”

Speaking about judging Dance Plus with her mentor Remo, she said, “I believe that I’m still a student. Learning is something that gets you going. I still learn from Remo sir that how he talks to each contestant, how he motivates them. He has played a very important role in not just my life but Dharmesh, Punit and Raghav too. He is limitless and we all get inspiration from him.”

When quizzed whether what is more difficult, judging or contesting, she quipped, “Judging is very difficult. Actually contesting is very exciting. You just have to perform. But when you are a judge you have a big responsibility and you are always nervous about your students’ performances.”

When asked whether she would want to take up any acting projects she said, “No, I’m not interested in acting because dancing is my first love. I live and I will die for dance. If there is a project which is dance driven then I might do it.”

Speaking about her bond with her famous sisters Neeti (playback singer) and Mukti (actor), she shared, “We spend a lot of quality time at home. We share each and every detail of our lives with each other.  Whenever we get time we do a lot of masti. Family bonding is the best part of the day for me.”

The talented dancer also spoke about changing trends of dancing in Bollywood. She shared, “Bollywood is inspired by reality shows and is now experimenting with different dance styles. Recently in Bahubali I noticed the dancing style was very much inspired by what we do here in reality shows.”
