Jasmine Roy on her Durga Pujo fashion

Jasmine Roy on her Durga Pujo fashion

Kolkata: Actress Jasmine Roy, who is known for her work in TV soaps like Bhola Maheswar, Meera, and Bhakter Bhagaban Shri Krishna, says that this Durga Puja is all about sarees for her.

Durga Puja is around the corner, so when TellyChakkar asked about her Puja shopping plans, Jasmine shared, ‘My pujo shopping is almost complete. I am going to wear a saree every day.’

‘I have purchased Ikkat, Dhakai Jamdani, Manipuri silk, linen, and a few others, but I don’t know the names of those sarees. I liked them and thus purchased them,’ added the actress with a smile.

So, is Durga Pujo synonymous with sarees for her? ‘No, nothing like that, but I do love wearing sarees. Every year, on Ashtami, I wear a saree.’

Jasmine also said that she has a weakness for Dhakai Jamdani sarees.

‘I love Dhakai Jamdani a lot. I have purchased three Dhakai Jamdani sarees this year. I usually purchase them from a person who brings sarees from Bangladesh.’

When asked about the kind of jewellery she will be wearing during the occasion, she shared, ‘Depending on the design, I like to wear all kinds of jewellery. However, it has to be simple; I don’t like heavy jewellery.’

And what would be her fashion tip for her fans this Durga Pujo? ‘Not just for this Pujo, I would say that every time, wear clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident.’

On the work front, Jasmine was last seen as the lead protagonist, Gunja, in Star Jalsha’s soap Mayar Badhan.

When asked about the kind of characters she would like to portray next, she said, ‘Acting is my work, so no matter what role comes my way, I will try to give my 100 percent to it.’

‘But yes, I would like to essay a strong and bold character. I wish to play a character like Kashibai (from the film Bajirao Mastani). I liked Mastani (played by Deepika Padukone) also, but Kashibai (played by Priyanka Chopra) was mentally very strong. In terms of hatke characters, I liked Jhilmil from Barfi! And if you talk about soaps, I like Maya (Jennifer Winget) from Beyhadh,’ signed off the actress.

May all your wishes be fulfilled, Jasmine!
