Sterling K. Brown to develop content for 20th Century Fox
Actor Sterling K. Brown will develop projects for 20th Century Fox TV.
The Emmy Award-winning star has signed a production deal at 20th Century Fox TV, the studio behind his hit series This Is Us, reports suggest so.
Under the deal, Brown will develop projects for 20th, which is on the verge of being absorbed into the Disney Empire.
Brown is the third star of This Is Us team to set up a production deal at the studio, joining Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia.
Brown won an Emmy in 2017 for playing Randall Pearson on This Is Us, which airs in India on Star World.
The show, in its third season, is currently the top-rated drama on network TV.
At 38, Chrissy Metz debuts swimsuit
Actress Chrissy Metz says she wore a swimsuit for the very first time at the age of 38 after decades of hiding her body.
Metz had made a promise to herself that she would wear a swimsuit if she found one she liked.
The 38-year-old actress kept true to that promise recently when she visited Barbados with a friend. She posted multiple photographs of herself wearing what appears to be a black one-piece bathing suit while lounging in the pool.
In an interview to Glamour magazine, Metz explained why it was a big deal for her, reports suggest so.
"I grew up wearing a T-shirt at the pool. As an adult, I was like, I'm going to find a bathing suit I like and I'm going to wear it. And there were people, like, 'Oh my God, look at you! You know I could never do that'," she said.
Metz recognised this to be more of a backhanded compliment, she decided to not let it deter her from wearing what she wanted to wear.
"I'm doing what I want to do."
Metz is known for role of Kate Pearson in This Is Us, aired in India on Star World.
Hollywood technician critical after fall on film set
A 65-year-old sound mixer is in critical condition after falling on the set of You Are My Friend, starring veteran actor Tom Hanks.
He fell from a two storey building during the filming of the Fred Rogers biopic.
Police told a news station that the man, who is from the Pittsburgh area, was taking a smoke break on a balcony in between filming scenes when bystanders heard a noise and discovered he had fallen, reports suggest so.
He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but after arriving, his status worsened. Filming has been halted as the police investigated.
In the film, Hanks stars as Fred Rogers, while Matthew Rhys co-stars as a journalist who became friends with Rogers. Chris Cooper will also appear in the film as Rhys' character's father.
Diary of a Teenage Girl director Marielle Heller is helming the movie from a script by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster.
The film is inspired by a real-life friendship between Rogers and award-winning journalist Tom Junod (Rhys). In the story, a cynical journalist begrudgingly accepts an assignment to write a profile piece on the beloved icon and finds his perspective on life transformed.
I was falsely accused: Depp on 'Fantastic Beasts...' row
Actor Johnny Depp says he was falsely accused in a controversy surrounding his casting in J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
The Oscar-winning actor takes on the role of dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald in the sequel after doing a cameo in the 2016 filmFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, reports suggest so.
His selection for the role was met with mixed reactions from fans after allegations of physical abuse surfaced from his former wife Amber Heard.
"I'll be honest with you, I felt bad for J.K. having to field all these various feelings from people out there. I felt bad that she had to take that. But ultimately, there is real controversy. The fact remains I was falsely accused, which is why I'm suing The Sun newspaper for defamation for repeating false accusations," ew.com quoted Depp as saying.
The studio Warner Bros., screenwriter Rowling and director David Yates were compelled to issue statements supporting Depp's participation.
"Based on our understanding of the circumstances, the filmmakers and I are not only comfortable sticking with our original casting, but genuinely happy to have Johnny playing a major character in the movies," Rowling wrote.
Deep said Rowling has seen the evidence.
"And therefore knows I was falsely accused, and that's why she has publicly supported me. She doesn't take things lightly. She would not stand up if she didn't know the truth. So that's really it."
Depp is known for films like Sleepy Hollow, Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderlandand Murder on the Orient Express, which will air in India on Star Movies Select HD on Saturday.
Amy Winehouse's hologram to feature in tour
A hologram of late singer Amy Winehouse, who died in 2011, will headline a world tour.
Beginning next year, a hologram of the late singer, who died at age 27 from alcohol poisoning, will perform with a live band and backing singers, reports suggest so.
The string of performances is expected to start in Fall 2019 and will feature "digitally remastered" versions of Amy's popular hits, Rolling Stone confirms.
"This is a dream for us," Amy's father Mitch told the publication.
"To see her perform again is something special that really can't be put into words. Our daughter's music touched the lives of millions of people and it means everything that her legacy will continue in this innovative and groundbreaking way," he added.
Profits from the tour, which is sponsored by Amy's estate and the BASE Hologram company, will go towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation, set up by her family after her death. The organization works with underprivileged youth to prevent future drug and alcohol abuse.
Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment on 23 July 2011. The Grammy-winning soulful singer was in rehab just two months prior and had cancelled a planned summer European tour in June.
Rodriguez once asked JLo for autograph
Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez's boyfriend Alex Rodriguez says he once asked the singer-actress for an autograph before they started dating.
On Thursday, Rodriguez, 43, shared a throwback photo of Lopez, 49, which she signed for him years before they got together, reports suggest so.
"Throwback to almost 20 years ago when a big time global pop superstar signed a picture for a young ball player," Rodriguez captioned the shot adding, "#
The "Dinero" singer later commented, "Omg!! Who found that?"
This isn't the first time Rodriguez has gushed over his lady love on Instagram. In September, he posted a series of photos of his favourite memories he created with Lopez from their trip to Italy in August.
In the post, the sportsman shows off several of his romantic boating adventures with the singer, as well as some sweet snaps of his two daughters, Ella Alexander, 10, and Natasha Alexander, 13.
Lopez's 10-year-old twins Max and Emme were also on the trip.
Although Lopez and Rodriguez, who began dating in March of last year, have spent a lot of time as a blended family, they are in no rush to get married, a source previously said, reports suggest so.
Historic Ex Convento halls catwalk for Mexico Fashion Week
The Ex Convento de San Hipolito halls, a historic monument of the Mexican capital, were transformed into a fashion catwalk for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week here.
The fifth day of the fashion extravaganza on Thursday took place inside the 16th-century building, declared a Colonial Monument in 1964, Efe news reported.
It featured collections of various fashion houses such as Centro, Lands, Bernarda, Mexico Disena by Elle, Rcano, The Pack and Daniela Villa.
The fashion event was held as part of Mexico Disena By Elle, a platform for emerging designers, such as Monica Lucia Medina, Miguel Eguia and Emilio Aguado, and their works.
The Fashion Week Mexico City, which began on 7 October on the stairs of the Angel of Independence monument in downtown here, will last till 14 October.
On Friday, the event will move its catwalk to the Chapultepec Forest, a city park here.
