Television’s longest-running show CID to bid goodbye after entertaining viewers for 21 years

CID

MUMBAI: CID, the show that began its journey almost 21 years back in the year 1997, will finally bid goodbye to its loyal viewers. The show is produced by B. P. Singh and Pradeep Uppoor under the banner of Fireworks Productions and has completed over 1546 episodes to date. It airs on Sony TV on Saturdays and Sundays at 10: 30 PM.

TellyChakkar has exclusive information that CID will air its last episode on 27 October. This has come as a shock to many, as the show was doing well all these years and no one thought it would go-off air.

It is one series that has entertained every generation; the USP of course was the star cast, which remained loyal to the serial for 21 years. We are used to watching Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman, Aditya Shrivastav and Dayanand Shetty as Senior Inspectors Abhijeet and Daya respectively, and Dinesh Phadnis as Inspector Fredricks.

They are many fan groups who are demanding that the series not be discontinued, and the hashtag #savecid is doing the rounds on Instagram. Fans are disappointed and are repeatedly questioning the channel and the makers about this sudden shutdown.

We reached out to Shivaji Satam, but he said he was unaware of the recent development as he is shooting out of Mumbai. We tried reaching out to Aditya but he remained unavailable to comment. while Dayanand confirmed the show going off air.

This news is heartbreaking for all loyal fans, and we hope the channel and makers will reconsider taking it off-air.
