After emerging as a comedy star with super hit films like Kyaa Kool Hain Hum and the Golmaal series, Tusshar is all set to spread laughter with ALTBalaji’s upcoming horror–comedy web-series Booo… Sabki Phategi. Along with Tusshar, Mallika Sherawat is also making her debut with this project.

The series is directed by Golmaal fame Farhad Samji and produced by Paritosh Painter.

On making his digital debut on OTT platform ALTBalaji, Tusshar shared, ‘This is my digital debut, and I am really excited to associate with Farhad Samji, who has been my director for the Golmaal series. My character is quite young, has lot of fun elements, and will definitely resonate with the youth. I am working with Balaji Telefilms and my sister Ekta after five years, and of course, it’s a wonderful feeling to work with them again. From the stellar cast to the director, everybody is known for their impeccable comic timings. This will be my second horror comedy after Golmaal, and I am sure this will add another feather in everybody’s cap.’

When Tusshar was asked if ever thought he will ace in the genre of comedy and looked upon as a comic star, he replied, ‘I think you create an identity with the character that you play. I am happy that I have been part of some very good comedy films written by the talented Farhad Bhai. Initially, I started my career as a romantic hero and did few parts of Kyaa Kool Hai Hum. Then, I got Golmaal, and life changed for me. I am happy that comedy found me. I think actors start discovering more as they do more work. I never thought I would be known as a comedy star, as I am very serious guy in real life. If you had met me while I was growing up, you would not have imagined me doing comedy.’

Tusshar has already created a niche in the genre of comedy. Hence, we asked him why not explore some different genre for his debut on OTT platforms. He said, ‘I would eventually, but at the end of the day, I should like the story. Viewers are very smart these days. The writing has to be strong. When I heard the script of Booo, I felt that this would add to what I have done before. The series has a perfect blend of horror, comedy, and a lot of surprises. So I didn’t want to lose something good like this. And I don’t think I have grown that old. I still have lot of time to experiment.’

Does he feel any kind of pressure or responsibility when he works on a home production? He shared, ‘I am sure that if you are a producer, there is a lot of pressure, but as an actor, you will have the same kind of excitement. I am working with Ekta after almost five years now, and I don’t see as pressure but as an opportunity.’

As we know, Ekta has welcomed a baby boy via surrogacy and that Tusshar is also a father of a boy born via surrogacy. Hence, we asked him if he gave any parenting tips to Ekta. He shared, ‘I can’t give any parenting tips to her, as it an individual journey and everyone has to learn on their own. She is taking care of the kid very well after watching me all this while.’

Booo… Sabki Phategi will also feature actors namely Kiku Sharda, Sanjay Mishra, Krushna Abhishek, Shefali Zariwal, and Sakshi Pradhan.
