"We will never run out of taunts," says Kairi's dialogue writer, Sharad Tripathi

Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt Ltd’s Kairi- Rishta Khatta Meetha that goes on-air tonight (2 March 2012) has been catching the viewers’ attention all thanks to its interesting promos. But many of them have come directly from the viewers. Interestingly, the channel, in its bid to involve the audiences, had asked the latter to send in some taunts to them, sometime last month. In fact, Fiction Programming Head of Colors, Prashant Bhatt even went on-record and said that they were running out of b*tchiness and hence involved the audiences for help. But the dialogue writer of the show, Sharad Tripathi begs to differ. “The current shows are trying to keep the audiences at the edge all the time, be it Saathiya or Diya Aur Baati Hum every show is following the same pattern, but it gets a little tiring for the people, hence a comic relief is necessary and Kairi will offer just that as it is a mix of comedy and drama, dramidy,” says the writer to Tellychakkar.com. Sharad has been writing dialogues for seven years now and has penned the dialogues of shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kasautii Zindagi Kay and Rang Badalti Odhani. “We have already written a lot of episodes and we have a lot of taunts in place. However, one can never run out of b*tchiness. Getting the audiences involved in the show is a great thing, but I have no idea why the channel said that we have run out of b*tchiness. I still don’t think one can run out of taunts. The film critics always have something new to tell about a film and Archana Puran Singh has a comment for every act on Comedy Circus. These people never run out of words and neither will we run out of taunts.” Since Kairi is about a monster mother-in-law and her daughter-in-laws, has he drawn inspiration from a real character? “Well, this is the usual tone that the ladies in the small towns use for their daughter-in-laws, but we haven’t met any of them yet. Then definitely there was a lot of brainstorming to be done here.” “The language and talking style of Sajjan Singh (Pratigya) makes him a larger than life character and that’s something we want Imarti Devi to be,” ends Sharad.
