"I have heart to heart conversations with Ektaa Kapoor"

Eijaz Khan is one guy who makes you go weak in the knees. His hot quotient has been quite evident since the time he's been on the small screen. But he had spread his charming wings during the modelling days itself when he participated in intercollegiate festivals. Later he went on to do ads and even tried his hands in films but in vain.
A real lover of sports, Eijaz unfortunately dislocated his shoulder while playing rugby and thus two precious years of his prime time were wasted. But he finally found his true calling on television where he grabbed the limelight in many Balaji shows, namely Kahiin To Hoga, Kesar, Koi Dil Mein Hai, Kkavyanjali and currently Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka. Prashant Golecha gets into a candid conversation with the actor himself where he talks about his mentor Ektaa Kapoor, his speculated lady love Anita and much more. Eventually he does get a clean chit! You've been with Balaji Telefilms for a long time. How's it been going so far? I couldn't have asked for more than what I have got from Balaji. They have offered me a variety of roles like in Kavyanjali and Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka. And I am sure I will get better roles in the future too! I know Ektaa on a personal level as well as on a professional front. We both are extremely passionate and emotional about our respective work. We also have heart to heart conversations. I feel people in your professional circuit come to know you personally and vice versa over a period of time. Has Ektaa offered you anything post Kkavyanjali? There were and are talks about a few special appearances at the moment. What do you feel is special about Kya Hoga….? The show is different from what I have attempted previously. As of now the focus of the track has shifted from comedy to a regular drama. Initially you were overworked by juggling many shows. Now with just one show on air, how relaxed do you feel? Yes, I was doing many shows at one point of time. I felt like a studio artiste (laughs). But it's synonymous with Balaji. Previously life was hectic. Now I have the privilege to channelise my energies to one single show. But I believe that one can do even ten shows at a time. You have tried luck with Bollywood too. Any developments in that area? Yes, I did an item song, dilli ki sardi in Zameen and a song in Kuuch Na Kaho. I have also acted in films like Maine Dil Tujhko Diya. But right now I am not aiming for Bollywood. Films are a dicey business. I don't know how to go hunting for work. Whatever came my way I accepted it and gave my best shot. What's your take on reality dance shows like Nach Baliye 2 and Jhaalak Diklaja? I was considered for both the shows but I am not cut out for reality shows. Contestants go out of way to please the audience and judges, they tend to go overboard. There is so much of melodrama which is not my cup of tea. Talking about your personal life, are you seeing Anita Hasnandani? No I am not. She is an amazing person and whosoever will get her will be very lucky. So are you lucky? No I am not that lucky. Ok then describe your ideal woman? She should be intelligent and be able to strike a conversation on anything. She should be little more understanding and less temperamental than me. I do like women who are pretty and beautiful and ideally my woman should have long hair! Preferably she should be not from the entertainment industry, as I want to go home to someone who leads a normal life. Things go to your head fast in this industry. And what is the real Eijaz Khan all about? I am an ambivert. I believe in living life on my own terms. I don't feel I am answerable to a lot of people in life. In my opinion the most important thing in life is to make a difference in another person's life. Other than work I'm passionate about watching films, reading, travelling and sports. Your popularity with your fans has been rising day by day. Comment. I receive 500 calls daily. I try and reply to messages which sound genuine. There is this fan who keeps messaging me that she is dying and her last wish is to meet me. I don't encourage such stuff as it becomes a vicious cycle. Some female fans not only claim to be my ex-girlfriends but also claim to be pregnant with my child. Imagine! Who all figure in your friend's list? I am blessed with friends outside the industry. Brian Fernandes, Kashyap Punjabi, Rahul Jetly and Dharmendra Kini are my close pals. They know me well and keep me grounded and openly criticize me if I'm wrong and yet remain on my side. In case of industry friends I don't feel the need to mention names. What's your funda in life? I have put this thought on the wall at my home, 'Any good that I can do or any kindness I can show let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.'
