MUMBAI: India is home to thousands of talented people who can leave you mesmerised with their creativity. Singing is one such talent, and there are many aspiring singers who dream of becoming a huge sensation across the nation.
Reality shows like Indian Idol have given such artists big breaks and helped shape their career in the music industry.
Indian Idol had 11 successful seasons and each season proved to be a huge hit. The show saw a bunch of talented singers who made the entire nation sway to their tunes. While the winner's trophy is bagged by only one, the other contestants too get equal name and fame.
So, as the show gears up for its 12th season, let's take a look at the 11 contestants of Indian Idol who bagged the winner's trophy.
1. Abhijeet Sawant
He became famous nationwide as he was the first one to bag the winner's trophy in season 1. From kids to adults, Abhijeet became everyone's favourite. His career has been on a roll ever since.
2. Sandeep Acharya
The aspiring singer proved his talent and also bagged the trophy. Unfortunately, Sandeep is no longer with us. He passed away in 2013 following an illness that caused jaundice.
3. Prashant Tamang
He was the winner of season 3. Prashant made it to the top two along with Amit Paul. He got about 10 times more votes than Amit in the finale and went on to win.
4. Sourabhee Debbarama
Sourabhee became the first female Indian Idol winner of Indian Idol season 4. She is also a Guinness World record holder. The beautiful singer has performed at live concerts across India and several countries around the globe.
5. Sreerama Chandra Mynampati
He was the winner of Indian Idol season 5. Apart from being a successful singer, Sreerama is also a well-known Telugu film actor. He has also shared screen space with Salman Khan in a TV commercial.
6. Vipul Mehta
Vipul went on to defeat co-finalist Devendra Pal Singh to become the winner of Indian Idol 6. Following his win, he also released his debut album Hello Namaste Sat Sri Akal.
7. Anjana Padmanabhan
Anjana Padmanabhan became the first junior Indian Idol after winning the title in 2013.
8. Ananya Sritam Nanda
Ananya became the second winner of Junior Indian Idol. She has sung a number of songs post her win, including for major films like MS Dhoni - The Untold Story and Baby.
9. LV Revanth
Revanth deserved to win season 9 of Indian Idol as he was already quite talented. He has sung around 200 songs for Telugu and Kannada films. Revanth sang the title track for popular reality show Sabse Bada Kalakar.
10. Salman Ali
Salman became a nationwide sensation for his beautiful voice. He went on to bag the Indian Idol 10 trophy for his talent. The singer has lent his voice for the theme song of the Indian television Series, Chandragupta Maurya. Salman also he made his debut as a playback singer for Satellite Shankar and Dabangg 3.
11. Sunny Hindustani
Sunny went on to spread his charm with his soulful voice in Indian Idol season 11 which made him the winner of the show. Sunny received a few offers from other music composers to playback for them in their upcoming films. He was also signed by Kishore Kumar's son, Amit Kumar for a project.
While these singers have continued to spread their charm with their soulful voice across the globe, diehard fans of Indian Idol are now eagerly waiting for season 12 and to witness fresh new talent.
