I am enjoying my single status Kavita Kaushik

Kavita Kaushik has been lauded for her impeccable and effortless comic timing as Chandramukhi Chautala in F.I.R. Her act as a Haryanvi police officer in the show has won her a fan in veteran and talented actor Nana Patekar. To those uninitiated, Kavita was offered the role of the lady police officer similar to that of Chautala in the movie One Two Three, which later went on to be essayed by Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra. The actress refused the role as she doesn't like to repeat herself.

The actress refused the role as she doesn't like to repeat herself. Kavita doesn't want to participate in reality shows anymore, but is keen on hosting as it offers one the opportunity to showcase one's talent to knit the different segments together and hold the audiences. After her stint as host on Zee Sports and Garam Masala, Kavita is back to her first love - hosting. The actress will now address her fans once again as the host of Star Plus' Arre Deewano Mujhe Pehchano and she is all gung-ho about it. Tellychakkar spoke to the beautiful actress about her third stint as a host, professional life, recently acquired singlehood and much more. Excerpts: How much do you have to put in as a host in the show? Anchoring a show isn't an easy task because as a host you shoulder the responsibility of linking the various segments of the show and hold the show together. Now I understand why Tina and Hussein used to be so busy during Nach Baliye. Hosting is very tedious and as it truly suggests, one has to anchor the show. Here I am holding various gags, performances and everybody's acts together. What according to you are the requisites of a host? No matter what, the host has to be positive - irrespective of personal problems, tensions or tiredness. As a host, you need to be smiling and hold the show and knit the segments together. Since you are lauded for your comic timing, wouldn't you agree that your fans would have been happier to see you as a participant rather than as a host? I have been offered almost all the reality shows as a participant, but post Nach Baliye, I have realised that I do not want to participate as a contender; I would rather host the shows. Having said this, I would like to add that I would have loved to participate in Arre Deewano.. as its concept is unusual. But hosting the show is equal fun and I have fallen in love with the show. As a host on this show, I too get to do different things and thus show my talent. In my introductory shot, I got to play triple roles which were different from each other, thus adding a lot of colour to my role as an anchor. The contestants will vote each other on the show. Isn't voting amongst the participants a recipe for friction? Let me clear one thing - these participants are not voting each other out, but will choose the best amongst themselves. There is no elimination and even the public voting will be introduced at a much later stage. With the kind of celebs we have on the show who have proved their mettle, it would be unfair to have elimination. The SMS voting is for the series winner. Whoever is crowned the master of disguise (Behroopiyon ka Sartaaj) title will be subjected to the public voting. But in such shows where you pull pranks on the general public, you might end up hurting sentiments? I will cite an example where Rakhi Sawant was playing a prank on a guy who got livid but in the end, when she revealed her identity to him, his anger was all gone and he was just too happy to realise that Rakhi herself played prank on him. This turns out to be a life time experience as you have such big faces playing pranks on you. What do you have to say about the success of Chandramukhi Chautala? It feels so nice when people love your character and acknowledge the hard work that goes behind it. The character has become so popular that I am receiving similar offers even from Bollywood. Even a great actor like Nana Patekar has complimented me for the same. I was offered the role of the lady police officer in One Two Three which I refused and it was finally essayed by Neetu Chandra. I don't want to repeat myself. Why aren't you taking up any dailies? I can't do soaps as I am a very hyperactive person and commitment phobic. I need to be on the go and can't stick to one thing. May be that's why I am not getting married. What do you have to say about your recently acquired singlehood status? Oh! I am simply in love with this status. I always used to wonder why my unmarried and non-committed friends looked so happy and now I have all my questions answered. Are you still in touch with Karan Grover? I am so busy with my work that I don't get time to socialise but I am happy for him. What do you have to say about the current season of Nach Baliye? I can't comment on it as I am not watching it.
