MUMBAI: Sahil Salathia has opted for a period drama for the second time. After 'Panipat', his fans saw his different avatar in the medieval fictional magnum opus series 'Paurashpur'. Though he has worked in a set up like this before, he insists both the roles are very contrasting. For his role of nrityaguru (dance teacher) Bhanu in ALTBalaji and ZEE5's magnum opus, Paurashpur, Sahil narrates his journey of getting into his character.
Sahil reveals, "For Paurashpur, the character that I am playing, has a lot of poise and I, on the other hand, am a very clumsy person. Also, I had to invent how the character spoke and got to experiment a lot with the mystique factor of the role and the dance moves and all that I had to learn. Sana Khan, the granddaughter of the late successful choreographer Saroj Ji (Khan), did many classical dancing workshops. She put in a lot of effort, and I also had to work very hard to get into the groove, but yes, we finally achieved what we wanted."
Paurashpur is directed by Shachindra Vats and stars Annu Kapoor, Shilpa Shinde, Milind Soman, Sahil Salathia, Shaheer Sheikh, Anantvijay Joshi, Poulomi Das, Flora Saini, Aditya Lal, Kashish Rai, and Ashmita Bakshi, among others.
