Bharti Singh to Vahbiz Dorabjee; Celebs who underwent from Fat to Fit; SEE PICS

MUMBAI: Are there any external parameters to judge a person's beauty with? No, the proverb, 'Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder' stands significant and everyone is spectacular in their own way. The entertainment industry is a medium through which messages are sent across to the audience, and plus-size television actors have broken the norm 'slim is sexy.' They have proved through their mettle enough and through their brilliant screen presence, actors like Bharti Singh, Anjali Anand and others proved that flab is fabulous. Let's take a look at some more actors, who did the unconventional by playing the female leads on the show.

Bharti Singh

Comedian-actress-host Bharti Singh has made a name for herself through her versatility. She is one of the few female comedians who has made India proud. Bharti often cracks a joke on her appearance and has no qualms about the way she looks. Bharti is comfortable in her own skin and has always remained the same way. In one of her interviews, The Kapil Sharma Show's talent had said, "My weight has been constant for a long time. I go for a full-body check-up every six months. I've never had any weight issues. Main jab paida hui thi, tab hi overweight bachha thi. Plus, being a Punjabi, I'm fond of eating. I have no plans of losing weight. In fact, my weight is my biggest blessing today."

Anjali Anand

Anjali Anand made her debut on television with the show, Dhhai Kilo Prem. The show was about an overweight couple, where her character loved herself for the way she appeared. Next, she was seen in Kullfi Kumarr Bajewalla, and her stylish looks both on and offscreen are just glamorous. In one of the interviews, Anjali told, "It's time for this country to change its perception about people who are different. I proudly say I am not part of the crowd, I am six feet tall, my shoulders are a mile broad and I love how I look. I am a Model. You putting a tag of plus size, curvy girl etc. on me, doesn't change the fact that I'm doing my job because that's what I came here to do. Demeaning the way I look is only going to make this society a smaller person which they already are, if they're standing next to me."

Rytasha Rathore

Rytasha Rathore is totally in love with her body, and flaunts it on her social media too. The actress stresses on promoting how an actual normal body looks compared to the size zero look. She was seen in 'Badho Bahu' and proudly wears a bikini and all clothes that make her feel happy and confident. "It took me a long time to accept my body and be fine with it. Of course from a health point of view, I know I should lose weight but purely as an aesthetic thing I know I am damn cute, sexy and beautiful. I think after studying acting things changed for me. It made me feel I will always be amazing no matter what and I shouldn't listen to other people," said Rytasha.

Delnaaz Irani

Delnaaz Irani has been in the industry for several years and is known for her bubbly nature. She has done films and television shows, but never compromised with the way she appears, and never let her size become an obstacle in her successful career. "When people look at me I want them to see a strong confident fat woman who is doing all the things that they sort of associate with thin women. Yes, I am a plus size and I can walk the ramp. I am a plus size and I can rock almost all the fashion trends," said Delnaaz.

Vahbiz Dorabjee

This beautiful actress was seen in shows, Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahani and Bahu Humari Rajnikanth. Vahbiz has shed oodles of weight by hitting the gym but stresses on the fact that loving one's own body is of utmost importance. "Individuality and having your own identity is very important," said Vahbiz once.

Pushtiie Shakti

Pushtiie Shakti was seen in the show, Mahi Way, who essayed the role of an oversized girl. She had no apprehensions about how she looked and felt confident in her skin. In one of her old interviews, Pushtiie, who is also a healer by profession, had said, "I have to agree that there was a time when I thought – haye main toh bahut moti hoon (oh! I am very fat). When I was doing theatre, many people would come to me and say you're so pretty but I wish you'd lose some weight. That irked me. Then I thought- But this is who I am! Why can't you like me this way?"

Akshaya Naik

Akshaya Naik, is currently seen in Marathi television shows but she was also seen in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Gayu. The actress is quite active on social media and her posts are all about staying happy and enjoying life as it comes. The actress has been body-shamed but doesn't take them to her heart. Akshaya, who is also a trained dancer and voice over artist, through an Instagram post said, "We, as women, need to get out of this entire nutshell of being PERFECT! Unfortunately, PERFECT has always been portrayed to be fair, slim, wearing fully covered clothes, well-mannered and obedient. Well, we need to overcome this. As long as you love yourself, you are PERFECT and no one has the right to destroy your self-confidence to be WHO YOU ARE. Thin, fat, fair, dark, tall, short - you are BEAUTIFUL. I dedicate this picture to all those who have made fun of my chubbiness since childhood and especially in my college days. Who said, "You'll burst if you eat a grain more because you're bloating like a BALLOON." GO AHEAD, and say more. You have given me more courage to accept myself and love my body. Be the QUEEN of your life and let no one conquer you. PS: Flaunt your curves with all the grace."

Well, these actresses are a big inspiration for anyone who wants to change their outlook, their hard work speaks for themselves.
