MUMBAI: Fashion is a weirdly beautiful concept that helps enhance ones' silent creativity through experimenting with various garments, outfits, accessories (like bags, belts, shoes, trinkets, etc.), fabrics, colours, prints, designs, etc. What makes it even more quirky is an individual's creativity-quotient with their minimum available resources, which makes it limitless.
With the boiling summer season on board, people are feeling depressed and smothered while being indoors and with nowhere to go amid the ongoing lockdown owing to the deadly second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being privileged with all the essential requisites at one's nearest disposal, the monotonicity of current life with no scope of experimentation in almost any sphere of life is understandably irritating and depressional.
However, chances of experimentation are always unlimited when it comes to fashion, even with the bare-minimum resources available.
Keeping the scorching heat in mind, one's style-statement must be summer-friendly. Hence, the availability of minimum garments like a long satin scarf or a men's handkerchief can be used to create wonders....yes you heard that right!
Taking inspiration from the barbie-world's fashion story, epic summer-friendly upper-torso garments like scarf-tops do exist in various prints and colours and it looks too pretty to be true! However, the base material must be of satin or chiffon to keep the feel light and airy and the excessive heat at bay.
If you're still wondering the chances for all that's mentioned above being true or not, we've compiled a set of pics of our beloved Bolly and telly actresses like Hina Khan, Jhanvi Kapoor, Palak Tiwari, Khushi Kapoor, Surbhi Chandna and lastly, Anjum Fakih, who have established realistic versions of themselves endorsing these scarf-tops, which involves the common 'knot-tie at the back' drapery.
For the stitched version of it, fine spaghetti straps are attached along the shoulders for a firmer look and grip. Meanwhile, many prefer it's strapless and easy tube-look versions as well, which can be easily made by draping the upper-torso with the desired long scarf, whose loose ends are usually tied into a knot at the back. To attain the classic look, a scarf must be folded diagonally before it's final drapery around the body.
To make the look fancier, scarfs are loosely endorsed over a monochrome tank and tube tops like Greek capes or knotted kaftan-tops, which are fastened on one of the shoulders with a small knot (ref. to Anjum Fakih's look).
