According to him, he has always been inspired by the superstar. When Shaleen watched the song <em>Ek Pal ka Jeena</em> for the first time, he made up his mind to start working on his looks and physique.

Shaleen Bhanot, who was to pay a tribute to Mithun Chakraborty in Star Plus' Sau Saal Cinema Ke, a tribute to the Indian film industry on completing 100 years, insisted that he wanted to perform on the songs of his idol Hrithik Roshan.
According to him, he has always been inspired by the superstar. When Shaleen watched the song Ek Pal ka Jeena for the first time, he made up his mind to start working on his looks and physique.
He also shared that just like Hrithik, even he had a sixth finger, but got it operated when he was very young, a decision that he regrets now.
