Sonakshi Sinha is quite excited about her upcoming film Dabangg 2 which is scheduled to will release on 21 December.
“ It is like coming back to home to family where my career had started,” the starlet exclaims. Talking about this Arbaaz Khan directed film which takes Chulbul Pandey ‘s story ahead, she avers, “Very few films have after-marriage romance. Most flicks just show the boy chasing the girl. This lacuna been addressed very well here, in fact, we got married in the latter part of Dabangg but were not much focused in it. There is lot of ruthana, mananaand such sweet sequences. The songs are full of love,” she adds.
For getting into the skin of the character, Sonakshi found it more easier the second time round. “It isn’t so that I wasn’t comfortable back then, but since this is a sequel it, it became a walk in the park for me to get into character wearing sari, mangal sutra and sindoor in the hair partition. Also, Well written dialogues and scenes have also helped. ”
Coming to what makes Dabangg 2 such a hot property, she observes,“ Chulubul is not seedha and that’s what people like. I think there is shade of him in every man. His character really connects with the masses and no wonder, the moment the film released in2010, everybody started to talk about its sequel. She also goes on to add that, without a doubt, Salman is the biggest Dabanggactor of Bollywood. ”
Sonakshi never expected her dialogue, thappad se darr nahin lagta saahab, pyar se lagta hai"in the original to become such a rage. “Even now, wherever I go, I have to mouth that line,” she maintains. So what can we expect this time around, we ask.“ The sequel has new romantic lines and some interesting dialogues between the husband and wife, let’s see which gets picked up now,” she glees.
The actress does not want to compare Abhinav Kashyap (director of the original) with Arbaaz as both the filmmakers are completely different in their working styles. “I remember telling Arbaaz that he should have got into direction long back. For, I remember even during Dabangg when he was just a producer, he would come on the sets and give inputs like a director does. Hats off to him for juggling all three hats at the same i.e acting, producing and directing, but for me, he is the best as a director,” Sonakshi maintains.
Sonakhi who has given huge hits like Rowdy Rathore ( Akshay Kumar) and Son of Sardar( Ajay Devgan) with other actors as well does not consider herself as a lucky charm. “ First this tag was with someone else now it is me, tomorrow it might be with someone else. I don’t take it seriously. I find myself quite lucky to have got a chance to work with these great co- stars, ” she concludes.
