Bigg Boss 2 to Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3 and now Desi Girl, Monica Bedi and reality shows seem to go hand in hand. She admits to undergoing a complete image makeover post Bigg Boss and credits the show for making her what she is now. TellyChakkar caught with Bedi to get a glimpse of how her life has changed post BB It has been raining reality shows for you, is it a conscious effort? Reality shows are exciting where you get to experience something you have never experienced before. Like for Desi Girl, we had to live in a village. I am a Punjabi and have heard good things about Punjab from my dad but had never got an opportunity to live there. Through Desi Girl, I got to do this. Don’t you fear getting typecast? I am doing a movie next month. But the fact is I am happy with reality shows, I love doing them and there is no fear of being typecast! Reality shows are highly paid and watched, it’s almost like a paid holiday. Today big stars want to be part of TV, so why not! How has the Desi Girl experience been for you? It was fun to do simple things like milking a cow, making dung cakes. I was shocked to see people in villages still do this and a lot of other things. This simplicity and challenges were fun. It is all about leaving all the luxuries in life and living in a village. It is a tough life and one is not used to it. What was the most difficult part of the show? The most difficult part was handling the other girls on the show. (Laughs) The girls are very insecure and jealous. There was a lot of politics that was happening there. Sambhavna and I get along well, but then later on problems started creeping in because of the politics in the show. It got to me and it was very difficult to go on like that. Bigg Boss changed your life completely; it was seen as your comeback? Before Big Boss, leading a normal life was difficult. I know people did not like me much. The whole approach towards me was different. But Bigg Boss changed everything. Bigg Boss was a perfect comeback! It was all about doing something to show a different me. After Bigg Boss, opinions changed, people saw me differently. They liked me. Through Bigg Boss they got to see the real me. What do you do when you’re not shooting? I like spending time with my pets. I have a puppy, a parrot and an aquarium. I love to play with my pets and apart from that I watch movies, I go out. I like reading books. What about settling down in life? (Laughs) No, not now. I need to work and concentrate on my work. Vaise bhi I believe Jab hona hai tab ho jayega!
