MUMBAI: As 2024 comes to an end, actress Shruti Gholap, who is currently seen in the show Jamai No. 1, looks back on her remarkable career in the entertainment world, marking this year as one filled with creativity, growth, and new beginnings. Known for her versatile roles in theatre, television, and film, Shruti has expanded her horizons by embracing new skills and ventures.

“2024 has been a creative year for me,” Shruti shares. “I worked with great production houses, met inspiring people, and learned a lot from these experiences. Acting in different mediums has also allowed me to explore various aspects of my craft. Additionally, I ventured into interior designing—a field I studied alongside my acting career. I designed my own home and a few houses in Mumbai, which was a completely new and exciting challenge.”

Shruti also took a step toward academic growth, revealing, “I have given two exams for my master’s degree, though I won’t disclose what I’m pursuing just yet. Learning new skills has been a key highlight for me this year.”

When asked about her ultimate career goal for 2025, Shruti is clear about her aspirations. “I want to take on more powerful characters. While my face is often seen as positive in television, I believe I can excel in negative roles. It’s something I’m eager to explore further.”

She emphasizes the importance of excitement and input in her work. “Whether it’s a film or a role in a serial, the character sketch and my participation in the story excite me the most. That’s what I’m looking forward to in 2025.”

Professionally, Shruti’s biggest learning from 2024 has been to keep evolving and embracing new opportunities. “The new generation is upfront and advanced, and my advice to them is to keep their senses open, be wise, and be kind. Learn as much as you can, trust yourself, but also prepare thoroughly before diving into acting.”

She adds, “It’s crucial to have financial and family support in this field. Without it, surviving in a city like Mumbai can be tricky. So, polish your skills and ensure you’re ready to give your all.”

Shruti, who describes herself as a socially reserved individual, is excited to ring in the New Year surrounded by her family, embracing moments of warmth and togetherness. Reflecting on her journey, she shares a valuable takeaway: “Preparation is key in this industry, and it’s something I’ll continue to prioritize. Staying patient and resilient has been my strength, and I look forward to carrying that positivity into the new year.”
