The third edition of Star One’s popular thriller is all set to wrap up on May 16. A little birdie from the sets told us that the channel will bring back its thriller but under a different banner. And going by our sources, the show will now be produced by Reliance Big. The past two seasons and the current one are being produced by Contiloe Entertainment.
The source adds, “It is strange that the channel is not happy with the production house that has been making it for the past three seasons. Koi Hai 3 has been doing well for Star One, but there are talks that the next season will be produced by some other company. The channel is expected to approach some other production house but it will happen after a gap. As per the buzz, Abhimanyu Singh’s brother, Aditya, is going to make the show along with Reliance Big. The two brothers split after differences crept in between them. Aditya went on to launch his own production house named Jagannath Films. The launch party for the same will take place on May 20 and the series will go on air on May 22. As of now, they have been commissioned to make 20 episodes. They have already shot the pilot of the show with almost all new faces which has been approved by the channel.”
Another source adds, “One is also hearing that yet another former Contiloe employee Manikya Raju too will make a series for the channel. Raju was the project head on the season three of the thriller and had got the show approved from the channel but had quit the production house later owing to creative differences.”
The first source says, “Manikya might not produce it but just direct it for Aditya as the latter likes his work.”
When contacted, Raju said, “I don’t know. Let me get back to you.” We tried calling Aditya Singh and even sent a text message but he didn’t revert.
We sent a text to Abhimanyu Singh (Contiloe Productions), who completely denied the news. He says, “The show was number one on Star One within few weeks of its launch and for the past three weeks, so that’s news to me."
Nikhil Mirchandani, EVP and GM Star One, refuted the buzz and said, “It’s all untrue.”
