MUMBAI: It's a startling move and it's buzzing in the TV industry's corridors. The host of 'India's Best Dancer' has been changed. Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa will not host 'India's Best Dancer Season 2'. As things stand today, it will be Maniesh Paul. Whether another host joins Paul or not is still to be decided, but in all probability, Paul will fly solo.
The modalities are fast being worked out. Paul will presumably soon sign on the dotted line. However, our source strongly insists that Paul has completed all the paperwork.

So why have Bharti and Haarsh not been brought on board for the upcoming season? Buzz is, the doors of 'India's Best Dancer' closed on Bharti and Haarsh when the show's broadcaster took a cursory look at the TRP charts of 'Dance Deewane Season 3' (aired in May this year) for after the period that Bharti and Haarsh came in for Raghav Juyal who quit midway when he contracted COVID. However, it needs to be noted here that around the same time (May 2021), Madhuri Dixit too had left the show and Nora Fatehi had come in. All said and done, the end result was to induct a different flavour for 'India's Best Dancer Season 2'.
'India's Best Dancer Season 1' was judged by Malaika Arora, Geeta Kapoor and Terence Lewis. Auditions for Season 2 were supposed to begin online from May 2021 and it is assumed that a few candidates have been shortlisted.
The first season of the show in question was again struck by COVID in September last year when 7-8 people from the unit contracted the virus - a story which ETimes TV brought you first and exclusive. IFTDC (Indian Film & Television Directors' Association) CEO, Suresh Amin, had then confirmed and said, "I don't know the exact number, but yes, there have been cases of COVID-19 on India's Best Dancer. Everyone has been taking every possible precaution but I guess the pandemic is so severe that we have to deal with it come what may." Post that, Malaika tested positive for COVID. Eventually, 'India's Best
Dancer Season 1' was won by Tiger Pop.
Manish Paul remained unavailable for comment. Ditto for Bharti and Haarsh.
