MUMBAI: Sumati Singh has become a household name with just a few shows in her kitty.
The actress is popularly known for her shows like Amma Ke Babu Ki Baby and Roop - Mard Ka Naya Swaroop among others.
Sumati is currently seen in Star Bharat's show Tera Mera Saath Rahe.
The actress is playing a parallel lead, Ashi Desai, on the show.
While the show witnesses the reunion of the popular saas-bahu pair of Gia Manek and Rupal Patel, it also saw the popular couple Mohammad Nazim and Gia once again together.
Tera Mera Saath Rahe went on-air just a few weeks ago, and it is managing to impress viewers with its intriguing storyline.
TellyChakkar got in touch with Sumati Singh who plays Ashi on the show.
The actress got candid about a lot of things related to her character and some unknown facts about herself.
Speaking about her character, Sumati said, ''I am very grateful that I got a chance to work for such great content and artists for the show. People are loving our show from the very first day itself. I get their DMs and comments and I am feeling blessed. My character is very innocent. I follow my mother's footsteps and do whatever she tells me to do. She has taught me that Gopika is a servant for me, that's why I can't treat her equally. Ashi feels she is the best and she deserves everything. Ashi won't harm Gopika and she is extremely self-centred. She has nothing to do with all this planning, she is just obeying her mother.''
Talking about the negative comments she gets from the viewers, she said, ''The character is quite challenging as there is a fine line where I don't have to look negative. I have to make viewers understand that I am not doing anything, it's all my mom is doing and I am executing it. It's quite challenging to balance my character. The viewers have given some negative comments on my role which makes it evident that they are liking my character. I am taking this very positively and continuing to give my best.''
Not many are aware that Sumati was a part of Bigg Boss 9 as she was a part of the crew.
Spilling beans on this, she said, ''I was a crazy fan of Bigg Boss when I came to Mumbai for the first time. I was staying with one of my friends who was a part of this show. She asked me to join as I will get some experience. I agreed to do it. I must say that Bigg Boss is one of the best shows I did in my life. We spent 4 months in Lonavala and enjoyed it a lot. The viewers see it for an hour but we monitored the contestants all day and I got to see and learn a lot. I also got to interact with the actors and learnt a lot from them. If I get a chance I would love to do Bigg Boss. I dreamt of going inside the house and experience it.''
