MUMBAI: A few months  back Geeta Basra disclosed that she had two miscarriages in the previous two years, one in 2019 and the other last year. The miscarriage happened following the birth of her daughter Hinaya.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, the actress shared her experience about her miscarriages. She spoke to Pinkvilla about the incident as she has realized how widespread it is. She said, “I have a lot of female friends who have gone through that, and the best place to talk about it is certainly social media.”

Geeta further added that she realizes the need of talking about these issues because they are prevalent and may be a very stressful moment for a woman because they are a part of her. She said, "The moment you know you’re pregnant, probably 99 percent of women start planning for the future, the nine months - what’s going to happen, how you going to go about it, this beautiful bundle of joy that’s going to come in your arms - and when that moment happens, it’s the worst moment of your life, that you lose that little life inside you.”

She mentioned that she wanted to talk about it because after Jovan was born a lot of women approached her asking questions about what to do if they are not able to conceive.

She said , “So many women had contacted me, written to me and said thank you so much for giving us this hope, because I didn’t want women to give up, I didn’t want women to lose that hope that it would not happen.

Geeta also asked women to stay positive and believe in themselves.
