A page from the personal diary of Rucha Gujarathi Hello everyone, this is Rucha Gujarathi, whom you all know as Kiya from Saas Bina Sasural on Sony Entertainment Television. Today, I am here to share some facts about myself. Born in Mumbai, I did my graduation in paramedical from SNDT College, Santacruz. Since nobody from my family tree is in this media profession, naturally, acting was not in my genes but I was blessed with the talent from God. It so happened that one of my teachers, Miss Zahrin, who was very fond of my charm and cuteness, helped me a lot to get into this field. Since she had some contact in the media, she influenced my parents to put me into the field of acting. My acting career thus started in my childhood when I appeared in films like Sahebzade, Lottery, Shikari, Hum Hai Kamal Ke and Kanyadan. For me every single role on television is very close to my heart and I cannot select any one to be my favourite. It would be similar to a mother being asked to select her favourite amongst children. Moving on…television and films have become almost similar. So for me, acting does not make a difference whether I am in films or television. But, for television, I have an emotional bonding because it has given me my identity as a bhabhi, a sister, a bahu and a daughter. Films will also be my focus because it is this part of media that has taught me acting. At present, I am acting in Welcome-Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki on Life OK. I am sure everybody is aware of the concept of the show. The problem I am facing in this reality format is that I have to cook some dishes for the celebrities who come as my guests. But, in reality, it is very difficult to cook without the help of my mother. On the other hand, my image on television is that of a bhabhi who takes care of the entire family and who knows how to cook as well. So somewhere, I have the fear of my image getting distorted and hence, have to do everything very carefully. So, my friends, this is all for now. We will meet up very soon with some more interesting stuff.
