Neil Nitin Mukesh who is now readying himself for his upcoming flick 3G feels that the movie is an out and out commercial project. Talking about the eye-catchy sequence in the movie, Neil told us, “We have a girl (Sonal Chauhan) coming out of the sea in a bikini. Is this not enough for ‘masala’?” On quizzed whether this really meant that the movie has 30 kissing scenes as suggested by a certain section of the media, and he stated, “I do not know from where this wrong piece of information has gone out. The screenplay has only three kissing scenes, guess somebody added a zero (smiles).” Explaining in detail, Neil averred, “My character Sam goes to Fiji with his girl friend Sheena to spend some quality time before marriage. In such a situation, you do not expect us to play garba. Also a certain amount of titillation is required to hook some classes of audience. And what is the big fuss? Don’t people in real life kiss? Have we not gone to isolated places only to get shocked to see what couples do behind rocks?.” Having said this, this news of the movie having 30 kisses is too much as it gives me an impression that, “I am put in the bracket of C. I am not an Emraan Hashmi, I am Neil Nitin Mukesh, a simple man who does a 9-5 job and goes back home to be with his parents. With due respect to other actors, I say that I don’t have the guts to do that.” Neil felt that, “The title for the movie is apt as all the problems start when his character loses his phone in the Fiji trip. Sam then buys a second 3G enabled handset and this is when he starts to receive all kind of weird MMS’s. The lay people will also not have a problem in understanding the subject, as 3G has become very common. Even my make-up boy knows what 3G is, as the same service is available at our nearby pan shop for as low as Rs. 150/-.” Talking about the horror element in the movie, Neil who claims to have watched spooky flicks in all languages explained “3G is interesting as it not only talks about spirits, demons and ghosts but is also a psychological thriller. It was a challenge as an actor to portray different shades in a character. You will never know whether the man is really possessed or is suffering from split personality disorder.” All the best, Neil!!
