Parenthood, it’s not a job. It's an adventure! -- Author Unknown Sony Entertainment Television’s Parvarrish - Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi (DJ’s Creative Unit), a unique show on both the adventures and misadventures of parenthood reaches a milestone of 300 episodes tonight (11 March 2013). This serial was launched on 21 November, 2011. The cast and crew are naturally feeling proud that their show has hit the 300 mark and is still going strong. Rupali Ganguly who plays Pinky Ahuja, says excitedly, “It seems awesome that Parvarrish has reached 300 episodes. Let’s hope that there are more such milestones to come. This is not a saas bahu drama which goes for generation leaps from time to time but beautifully explores the relationship between parent and child instead. This show had started off as an experiment which has worked very well. Parents having kids between six and 20 can relate to it.” Rupali isn’t a mother as yet. Was it tough for her to slip into a mother’s role? She explains, “I could easily slip into a mother’s role. I was after all not in my twenties when I got this role. At my age, motherly instincts are quite prevalent at a woman’s core. The kids who play my children- Aanchal Munjal, Sparsh Khanchandani and Rakshit Wahi have become like my sons and daughters. Thanks to them, I now also know what the latest trends are in the youth- the music they listen to, the latest nail paint and fashion trends.” Sparsh Khanchandani, who plays Rupali’s onscreen daughter Raashi, whole-heartedly agrees that both of them share a mother- daughter bond in real life. “Rupali is very caring and like a loving mother to me. She is always there for me. In fact the Parvarrish cast and crew has become like my family. I do hope that this soap crosses 3000 episodes.” Producer Tony Singh jovially adds, “It’s a great feeling that our serial has run into 300 episodes. The longer any show runs, the happier the producer feels. Parvarrish was inspired from me and my wife Deeya’s experience of raising our children. A lot of what has gone on in our home is shown. Nowadays, my kids say that they better not talk in front of their parents; else what they say will be aired.” It’s evident that Parvarrish was born from Deeya and Tony’s hearts. As it’s a fictional representation of autobiographical experiences, parents of every urban household can easily relate to it. We wish that the show has a successful long run.
