Sridevi is not amused by Tamanna's constant self-comparisons with her

The one-film-in-Bollywood Tamil-Telugu actress Tamanna already seems to be rubbing up people the wrong way. First it was Salim, the producer of her Hindi debut film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra who apparently took the actress to court for contractual default. Now when Tamanna is poised for a comeback we have good reason to believe the starlet has pissed off Boney and Sridevi Kapoor with her constant references to Sridevi in her interviews. Says a source close to Sridevi, “Who is comparing Tamanna to Sridevi except Tamanna? Just because she is doing a remake of Himmatwala? Did anyone compare Aishwarya Rai to Rekha, Sushmita Sen to Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan to Amol Palekar just because they had done remakes of Umrao Jaan, Sholay and Gol Maal?” Apparently the whole Sridevi angle was orchestrated with the clear intention of creating the same kind of curiosity around Tamanna that was generated when Sridevi appeared in Himmatwala in 1983. In vain. Says a source close to Sridevi, “Tamanna is repeatedly inviting attention to the fact that she is doing a role earlier done by Sridevi. This comparison won’t help her. It will in fact, hamper her progress .We don’t know who has coached her to bring Sridevi into all her conversations in the media domain. Sridevi’s career wasn’t built on one Friday. When Sridevi said Himmatwala was no Mughal-e-Azam Sridevi was right. It’s a potboiler with no recycle value. One is agog to see what Sajid Khan has done with it.”
