Jayesh Patil, the prolific writer who began his career penning for the popular show Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka has had a satisfying journey in the industry. However, the constant thirst in him to explore and tap new markets as a Writer has kept him going of late. The man who held the position of the Fiction Head, with Reliance Big Productions for two long years was responsible for bringing lot of business into the company. The man now moves out of Reliance to launch his own banner wherein he will be producing shows for television as well as movies. Jayesh will be multi-tasking and will be writing his shows too. Talking about his two years long journey with Reliance, Jayesh told Tellychakkar.com, “It was a nice learning curve to be working along with Tarun Katyal and Simi. It was a good diversion from writing as I got to learn more about the corporate sector. I was responsible for bringing regional business for Reliance. Now, I move on and plan to be on my own.” On future plans, the writer turned producer said, “I will be travelling a lot for the next two months. The main idea is to do an extensive recce of the new TRP markets that have come in post digitization. As a writer, I want to understand the audience in the new areas, and also know more about the changing phase in India as a writer. I will be spending quality time in the strong TRP markets like Ahmedabad, Jaipur etc and know more about the preferences of people in every zone. I want to write more of region-specific stories, rather than the generic ones.” Jayesh will now focus on his own brand value as Writer, Producer and Content Consultant. On his production house, the man stated, “The banner that I have formed is ‘Rugved Arts’. The company will be producing regional content, content for popular GECs in television and also movies. I have been working on few scripts for the big screen, and am in talks with few big stars. For television, I have pitched few concepts to various broadcasters; I will put in all the inputs I get from my recce into my new concepts. I am also open to strategic alliance with other production houses.” Jayesh is presently writing for the ongoing Colors’ show Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki. “Sanskaar is going good and the ratings have also increased. I have another show in the pipeline for Star Plus, which will be produced by Reliance Big Productions. I will be the writer for that show.” Lastly, Jayesh thanks the industry for giving him an opportunity to explore himself to this level. “I thank all for allowing me to explore different aspects of myself as a writer from a humble background and reach a stage wherein I can create my own content. There is a long way to go.” We wish you all the very best!!
