Ours is a dance crazy country as we do not miss an opportunity to put on our dancing shoes and shake our legs in frenzy. Therefore, dance reality shows are obviously meant to be a part of our TV shows. In fact, of late the dance ‘talent’ bar has been raised by diverse reality shows and special mention here would be Zee TV’s Dance Indian Dance which actually set the ball rolling. Hence, the Twelfth Indian Telly Awards have nominated a few of these dance reality shows. The list is as follows… The first on our list is the trendsetter of some challenging dance performances - Zee TV’s Dance India Dance 3. The show has been witnessing some extremely talented and demanding dance performances from youth all across the globe. Next on our list is Zee TV’s Dance India Dance Li'l Masters 2. Just like Dance India Dance, this one too has some taxing performances but from the younger lot. The show is a thorough entertainer and a must watch for all dance lovers. Moving a bit away from the common man, we will now talk about celebrity dance reality shows. The first on our list here is Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 5 (BBC Worldwide). The celebrities are paired up with a choreographer on this show. And they have to keep excelling week after another to survive on the show. The last season, Jhalak managed to entertain its audiences not just with the dance performances, but with the little extra fun moments that were brought in by contestant Bharti Singh and host Manish Paul. Lastly, Star Plus’ Nach Baliye 5 (Frames) is the only show that gets celebrity couples together on a show. The series is indeed very entertaining as the audiences get to watch the real life celeb jodis dance on-screen. This year’s Nach was entertaining, courtesy judge Sajid Khan and contestant Rahul Mahajan.
