MUMBAI: Veteran Tamil actor Poo Ramu passed away on June 27 (Monday) at Chennai's Rajiv Gandhi hospital suffering from a massive cardiac arrest. The 60 years old veteran actor was rushed to the hospital. Despite getting treatment for a few days, he passed away on Monday. His mortal remains have been kept at his residence in Urapakkam for homage.
On June 27 evening, Poo Ramu died at a government hospital after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. His final rites will take place on Tuesday, June 28. More details are awaited.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin offered condolences to Poo Ramu ' family. In his statement, MK Stalin pointed out that Ramu was a street play artiste who reached out to people on Leftist ideology. Udhayanidhi Stalin had also paid tribute to Poo Ramu by visiting him at hospital.

Poo Ramu was last seen in Suriya's Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad. He was a film actor and a street theatre artist.
Ramu rose to fame in 2008 after he played an important role in director Sasi's Poo, which was released in 2008. Since then, he has been fondly called Poo Ramu by filmmakers and fans. After Poo, Ramu gave solid performances in films like Neerparavai, Pariyerum Perumal and Nedunaalvaadai.
