MUMBAI: On 14th October, actor Robbie Coltrane, who is known for playing Hagrid in the Harry Potter franchises, passed away aged 72. His co-stars and fans all over the world mourned the death of the beloved actor and paid him tribute on social media. Robbie Coltrane, loved by all Harry Potter fans as the gentle half-giant Hagrid, died on October 14th at the age of 72. No cause of death was revealed, but his agent thanked the medical staff at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Scotland, "for their care and diplomacy". Other than featuring in 8 Potter films as the young wizard's mentor, he had a wide variety of other parts including when he played a former KGB agent turned Russian mafia boss in two James Bond films- 'Goldeneye', and 'The World Is Not Enough', with Pierce Brosnan in the lead.

Alan Rickman passed away at the age of 69 on January 14, 2016, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
