MUMBAI : Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Kiara Advani will next be seen in Govinda Naam Mera. The film was supposed to release in theatres in June this year, but it will now get an OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar. Today, the makers took to social media to announce that the film is coming on Disney+ Hotstar and they have shared a super funny video in which Karan Johar is interacting with Vicky and offering him Govinda Naam Mera.
Vicky shared the video on Instagram and wrote, “Picked the #FunVicky option. See you soon! Sambhaal lena. #GovindaNaamMera coming soon only on @disneyplushotstar!”
In the video, Karan is seen narrating the story of Govinda Naam Mera to Vicky. But, the promotional video shows that Vicky is not convinced with the script. But when Karan gives him the option to star in Student Of The Year 3, the actor chooses Govinda Naam Mera over SOTY 3.
Well, the makers have taken a dig at themselves as the Student of The Year franchise has not impressed moviegoers much. While the first installment of the film did well at the box office, it received mixed reviews and started a meme fest. Meanwhile, Student Of The Year 2 starring Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria, and Tiger Shroff, was a disaster at the box office and got all the negative reviews.
Talking about Govinda Naam Mera, the film is directed by Shashank Khaitan, and reportedly, it is the same film that was announced as Mr. Lele with Varun Dhawan. But, later, Vicky replaced Varun in it. The promotions of the film have already started and recently, the cast shot for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10.
