MUMBAI: Zeenat Aman, an actor from the past used Instagram on Tuesday to take followers on a trip down memory lane. The actor shared a still from the song 'Chanchal Sheetal Nirmal Komal' and said that when Raj Kapoor described the scene to her, she 'burst into a flood of tears.'
Zeenat looked lovely in a red skirt and an off-shoulder top in the picture with Shashi Kapoor. She was photographed wearing traditional gold jewelry as well. Giving insights on the 'psychedelic journey' song, she wrote, “Giant mushrooms, pink clouds, bellowing smoke, enormous flowers, sexy outfits, otherworldly props…this fantasy song sequence from Satyam Shivam Sundaram went the whole nine yards. I’d go as far as to call it something of a psychedelic trip!”

The actor continued by saying that not many people are aware of the chaos that occurred behind the scenes. She referred to her director Raj Kapoor as a "aesthete to the core" and said that he was renowned for hiring some of the most attractive actors from the south.

She mentioned, “…the likes of Vyjayanthimala and Padmini. He also had a taste for classical dance, and had conceptualised this entire song with that in mind.”
Zeenat Aman added that the song made her anxious because it was her debut movie under the RK brand and she wasn't a classical dancer. She remembered, “When Rajji narrated the sequence to me, I burst into a flood of tears! I was convinced I would make a fool of myself and sink the entire film. Through hiccups and sobs I explained my predicament to him. Rajji laughed. “What will I do with you convent girls and your two left feet?”
Zeenat stated that the director truly helped her, having told the renowned choreographer Sohanlal to teach her mudras rather than employ any "complicated choreography." She added, “Simultaneously, genius costume designer Bhanu Athaiya created a range of sensational outfits, and art director A. Rangaraj mounted a stunning set. And thus, the SSS team created a wonderland.”
The star requested that her fans locate the film on YouTube and view it. “It’s a visual delight, and I would love to hear your thoughts on it.”
