I feel secured knowing that I have my own savings; last year when my father was ill, I realised how important it was to save as you never know when you may need money. Are you an impulsive buyer? Yes, I tend to shop at high street stores and buy mostly things for my flat. What are the investments that you have made so far? So far, I have my money in only Fixed Deposit Scheme (FDS), but soon I intend to buy a property. What has been your most expensive purchase till date? Since I travel a lot; so maybe air tickets. Are you financially secured? I still have a long way to go, but yes I feel that I am in a better place than when I was a few years ago. Who handles your expenses? I do it myself. What was your first salary like? I worked at a retail store in London; it was a summer job where I was paid ?280 per month. How much money do you carry every day? Around Rs 3 to 4 K or else I use my card. Any advice for wannabe investors? I think knowing well that savings are so important, I definitely try to save 60 per cent of what I earn. However, I enjoy traveling and eating out. A few years ago, I did invest in gold and that really came in handy.
