MUMBAI: Zee TV's upcoming fiction show, "Ikk Kudi Punjab Di" is a high-octane drama that promises to captivate audiences with its powerful storyline and well-written characters. Produced by Dome Entertainment, the show is set to deliver a riveting narrative that will be filled with unexpected twists and turns. Based in the princely state of Kapurthala, Punjab, the show follows the journey of Heer Grewal (Tanisha Mehta), a beautiful, vibrant young woman born into a Jatt landlord family. Her biggest priority is the well-being of her family. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when she marries into the Atwal family, making everyone wonder- Jisne maangi sabki khair… Waqt ne kiya hai…. kyun us se bair?
As the actors have started shooting for the upcoming show, we have an exciting behind-the-scenes story to tell regarding the lead actors Tanisha Mehta and Avinesh Rekhi (Ranjha).

Actors often go under loads of preparation before and during the shoot, they have to take the on job training from time to time, for different tracks of the show, either professionally or from a colleague or makers of the show. And just like every actor, Tanisha wants to give her 100% to portray the character of a Punjabi girl. To depict Heer with complete authenticity on screen, Tanisha has been learning the right Punjabi dialect from none other than our Punjabi Boy- Avinesh Rekhi. While going through their lines and giving their shot, Avinesh has been helping Tanisha with the right Punjabi dialect and accent,  so that she aces her scenes effortlessly!

Tanisha mentioned, “When I was offered the show, I knew I had to put in a lot of work and effort to portray the character of Heer. As the show is based out of Punjab, there are a lot of times I have to speak in the Punjabi language, and definitely with the right pronunciations. And honestly, Avinesh has been a blessing to me. Being the proper Punjabi Munda that he is, he has been helping me with the correct Punjabi accent and dialect for every scene I have to speak in the language.  He has been very helpful, and he always ensures that I get the dialogues delivered right. Honestly, the whole process of learning the same from him is really fun on set, he has made one of the most difficult parts of my preparation very trouble-free.”

While Tanisha is all excited about playing Heer’s character, it will be interesting for the viewers to witness the drama that follows in Heer’s life.

Tune into the show every day at 7 pm, starting 21st November, only on Zee TV!
