MUMBAI: Indian model and actress Katha Nandi made a mark in the South Indian film industry with her versatile and impressive performances. Though she earned her name in the South movie industry, Begali cinema is from where she started her acting career. That’s right! The Kolkata born actress started her career in the year 2020 with the Bengali OTT series Pisaach Kahini: The Story of Vampire.
Talking about her big-screen debut, she appeared in the Tamil movie Thalaikoothal, which was later released on Netflix. Katha played the role of Pechi, a low-caste girl who falls in love with a high-caste boy, and received critical acclaim for her portrayal.
The model-turned-actress can be seen currently in her second Tamil movie, Malaikottai Vaaliban, directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery. The movie is a period drama with a lot of twists and turns, and features Katha opposite the legendary actor Mohanlal.
It was a dream come true for Katha to work with Mohanlal, whom she describes as a humble and down-to-earth gentleman.
