Family Aaj Kal review: A sweet and entertaining story that gives an important message

Be it the fast pace of the story, the characters or the moments where the members talked to the camera – It was all entertaining
Family Aaj Kal

MUMBAI: Sometimes, as people, we all think that we are the only ones going through a particular problem but then we get to meet people and discover that they are all going through the same problem as well. There comes a feeling that’s both happy and sad but at the same time, it also builds a bond between us.

You will feel something similar when watching Family Aaj Kal on SonyLIV. The series stars Apoorva Arora, Lt. actor Nitesh Pandey, Sonali Sachdev, Prakhar Singh and Aakarshan Singh. Be it the fast pace of the story, the characters taken or the moments where the members talked to the camera – It was all entertaining but also had its own scopes of improvement. The series will repeatedly make you question something that’s so obvious but will have a satisfactory ending giving you just what you wanted the whole time. However, it will still leave you with a little ‘meh’ feeling as it was something that was so simple to understand.

The writers have done a good job by trying to keep the characters relatable, however, the story isn’t very relatable as it talks about a girl who falls in love with a taxi driver…oh wait, a cab driver and then tries to convince her parents. With 5 episodes of approx. 21 mins each, we get to watch a fast pace story with some detailing missing, ending up with certain aspects put casually. No doubt, the performances were on-point. The connection between a sister and brother was also shown to be something we have either seen or experienced ourselves. Even the chemistry between Apoorva Arora and Prakhar Singh is something really good.

The music given in the series is good and even the screenplay is smooth. Overall, the series is a sweet entertainer to watch on a weekend. Team Tellychakkar gives it 3 out of 5 stars.
