MUMBAI: While the audience has been going crazy over the recent stories and performances, we cannot forget that there was a time when there were fewer movie releases and a lot of major announcements that never saw the day of light.
That’s right! We have all been thinking and wishing for some amazing team ups. However, other than just imagining, sometimes makers put these ideas in our heads as they announced some really desirable movies but unfortunately we were left waiting.
We are here with a list of such movies that got shelved but were desired by movie buffs. Take a look at the list below:
Dostana 2
We all loved Dostana, be it for the bromance between John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan, the Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra, or for the laughter riot it gave. There was a strong buzz that soon there is going to be a Dostana 2. However, the buzz never materialized and we were left wanting for the movie. It was also said that the cast of Dostana 2 would include Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, John Abraham, Laksh Lalwani, Asha Bhat and many more. Sadly the movie got shelved.
Munna Bhai Chale Amrika
One of the most desirable movies that unfortunately got shelved. There was even a teaser for the movie which got the audience excited but for some reason, the movie could not be made and the audience were left hanging dry. Interestingly, even today there are fans who have hopes that this movie will be made soon.
Paani
This movie became a topic of discussion during the SSR case. This is when a lot of people came to know about the movie and after getting to know details like the director of the movie being Shekhar Kapur and the storyline (just a hint of it), the audience became really eager and so wished if the movie was completed. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, the movie couldn’t be made.
Time Machine
Another movie by Shekhar Kapur, this time with the perfectionist Aamir Khan, did not see the light of day as it unfortunately got shelved. This was a sc-fi movie which also had Naseeruddin Shah. The making of the movie is available on Youtube even today. However, the audience could not get to watch this movie as it got shelved.
Rishta
The cast of this movie included, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit Nene. It was upposed to be released in 197 but unfortunately for some reasons, it did not get released and the audience were left wishing for the release.
Kalank
We all know about Kalank which was released in 2019. However, what a lot of people do not know is that Karan Johar wanted to direct this movie in 2003 but due to his father’s death he did not have the emotional strength to make this movie. According to the buzz at that time, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Kajol were signed for the movie.
Dus
Mukul Anand was the director of this Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt starrer movie. While the movie was in making, unfortunately the director passed away and the movie got shelved. Other than Salman Khan, and Sanjay Dutt, the movie also featured Shilpa Shetty and Raveena Tandon.
