MUMBAI: Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta have joined hands to make a sequel to Border which was a blockbuster film in 1997. Well, there were reports of Gadar 2 star Sunny Deol to back in the sequel and playing the role of Major Kuldip Singh Chanduri. Fans were already excited for Border 2.

Now, there are reports that actor Ayushmann Khurrana will be the new entrant who will play a key role in Border 2. Yes, you read that right! Ayushmann will be seen playing the role of a strong author-backed part in the Indian Armed Forces. Border 2 will be helmed by Anurag Singh.
As per a report in Pinkvilla, producers Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta are all set to release Border 2 on Republic Day 2026. Well, a source close to the development said that Border 2 is targeting to hit the big screen on Friday, January 23, 2026, which is Monday. The film will celebrate the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces and makers feel that there is no better date than Republic Day.

Border 2 will be the biggest war film in Indian Cinema and reportedly makers will do justice to the original film. Well, Border 2 is currently in the writing stage for over a year now and makers have finalized two actors for the lead role. Both Sunny and Ayushmann will be seen embarking on their journey by the end of the year.
