MUMBAI: There is no song more famous than "Deewangi Deewangi," which featured a number of the top personalities in the Hindi film industry and is still considered one of the most iconic Hindi films of recent times, directed by Farah Khan. A "stampede" happened on set when Mithun Chakraborty arrived to film his scene, Farah recounted in a recent conversation, despite the presence of several A-list celebrities. Shah Rukh Khan was sidelined for a while due to the frenzy that was so intense, she stated.

Speaking on Radio Nasha, Farah recounted, “People went crazy for Mithun da, and even I couldn’t believe it. There was a stampede on the set. Mithun da also came after a long time, so light boys and everybody came on the set. I think he was the president of some association and had done a lot for workers. They were literally giving their phones to Shah Rukh to click their photos with Mithun da.”
Vishal-Shekhar composed the song "Deewangi Deewangi," which had lyrics by Javed Akhtar and 31 Bollywood actors making cameo appearances. These actors included Dharmendra, Salman Khan, Dino Morea, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Shilpa Shetty, Priyanka Chopra, Kajol, Juhi Chawla, Karisma Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Rekha, Shabana Azmi, and Tabu.
Farah previously disclosed in an interview on IFTDA Official's YouTube channel how Shah Rukh Khan, who was also Om Shanti Om's producer, gave goodie bags worth Rs 1 lakh to each actor who showed up for the song's shoot. The Manish Malhotra-designed clothes were used by the female actors.
