Mona Singh reveals why she chose not to marry an actor; 'I couldn't have handled...'

Mona is renowned for adopting diverse roles and trying out various personas. The actress has generally kept her personal life secret and shocked her admirers by marrying director Shyam Rajagopalan in a traditional Sikh ceremony. In a recent interview, she provided further information about it.

Mona Sign became well-known with her first television show, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, in 2003. She was frequently connected to an actor during her lengthy career in the entertainment industry. However, the actress shocked her admirers by deciding to marry filmmaker Shyam Rajagopalan. When she recently spoke with Siddharth Kannan, she stated that she could not have handled getting married to an actor.

Mona was quoted, as saying, "Maybe I couldn't have handled another actor. Thode obsessive type ho jate hai. Mai nahi hu, but log hote hai. I'm very happy that we are in the same industry. He is into advertising and not an actor."

Mona added that she is happy that her husband, Shyam, is a filmmaker. The 3 idiots actress added that her husband is a producer, director, and even manages theaters. As a result, he helps her to better understand when she is reading a script. Moreover, he helps her even when she is stuck in some confusion or issues of life.

In December 2019, Mona Singh wed Shyam Rajagopalan at the Juhu Military Club in Mumbai in a private ceremony. She is Punjabi and got married in a traditional Sikh marriage. During the same interview, Mona revealed that she has only a basic knowledge of Tamil thanks to her husband's meticulous instruction. Mona shared that her friends were thrilled that she had married such a "great guy."

She says, "All my friends were happy that, oh you married a south Indian khana bada acha milega tere ghar pe, and I was like just shut up."

Regarding her professional career, Mona most recently starred alongside Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma in the popular movie Munjiya. The film was released on June 7, 2024. The actress's upcoming film is Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos.
